Little Bear's Adventure's
It's Halloween! I don't have a costume... But I'm surrounding myself in wonderful colors! And don't ask me why that pool water is green.

Pie and Wine I decided to celebrate the holiday with a little pie and wine. By the end of summer we all get a little tired of burgers and beer picnics. It's Lonely Up Here I had enough for 2, but no one came. I hoped a friend might wander by and join me, but I guess not everyone can climb the flower pot as easily as I can. Waiting So I went inside and got my picnic quilt. And I got a few more treats. I'm hoping somebody will come.
Lake Placid, NY This photo was taken of me in Lake Placid, in the summer of 2012. I was very serious as I sat on the red metal pondering the history of Lake Placid and the 2 Olympics that were held here in 1932 and 1980. I was also wondering what it would be like to be in the Olympics. On a Bobsled Team! As you can (barely) see, I'm not sitting in the proper part of the bobsled. And the bobsled is sitting on a sidewalk, not sitting on the snow. Today Even though I'm not in Russia at the Olympics today, I've been watching the bobsleds on TV. I found a helmet and I've been practicing. Friends It helps to have friends who own a bobsled. Sometimes I'm extra daring and go helmet-free, so I can feel the wind in my face. It's going to be near 80 degrees today in Houston today!
Ornaments Beth took the ornaments off the tree today. I hate that. I held onto my favorite ornament and told her she couldn't box them up yet. Just Sitting I sat in the bowl of ornaments for about an hour. My Friends Next thing you know, Beth had pulled all sorts of decorations off the mantel and table tops. I hate that. I spent a little time with these good buddies before she boxed them up. New Year's Resolution #2 Yesterday I said my first goal was to have more adventure in 2014. My second resolution is to be more positive. So thinking positively, I'm glad Beth didn't pack me away till next year. Although that could have been an adventure.
Can you see I'm smiling in this photo? Remembering! It's Christmas Eve and time to enjoy friends and family and do some remembering. I'm thinking about the Lacko Family who found me when I was lost in Lake Placid, NY! They let me travel with them on their vacation and then sent me home to Texas with a new friend. Here I am with Rose, getting excited about this sparkly gift!
Merry Christmas, Everyone! Paper & Ribbon You have no idea how hard this is! Choosing the paper is hard enough, then I have to cut and use tape. Then, I have to decide which color ribbon! Sometimes I get totally annoyed and I just dive in and get comfy until I'm in a better mood. Bows Then I tie a few bows. And then I climb up on a stack of presents and admire my work. Most people don't get to do that.
Pencils and Chalk A few days ago I got a little excited about the beginning of school...with some crayons. But I keep seeing these little kids with these huge backpacks and I wonder what they could possibly need besides crayons. So I've been digging around and came up with some more supplies. I look like I know what I'm doing now. Hmmm? Maybe I need some Elmer's Glue.
Funny Flower Today, I found a curious plant in a pot, by the pool. I decided to climb it. I climbed to the top, so I could use it like a diving board. Looking Down It was scary looking down. I couldn't even figure out how I got up here. Who? Who put this plant so close to the pool? They shouldn't be trying to tempt little bears to do dangerous things. I've had enough mishaps. I counted to three and slid back down. Much Better That was too much work and stress. It's Labor Day after all. I'm going to take it easy!
Hot! And I'm tired of fruits and vegetables! So I went outside with an ice cream cone to embrace the summer that will be ending soon. And the ice cream was melting so fast, I slid off and got a little dirt on my fur.
It didn't help things that the only flavor in the freezer was Green Tea. They shouldn't try to make ice cream seem healthy. The whole experience was just not what I had hoped for. Boring August It was so boring today, I went out in the garden and picked vegetables. No Holidays The only thing I see on the August calendar is International Youth Day and a Feast of Assumption. I think I'll create my own holiday. Happy Vegetable Day! Everybody can cook their favorite vegetables today...or you can just climb around in them if your prefer.
Lazy Summer I was too lazy on July 4th to post anything with flags or fireworks! But it is still July and still time for eating watermelon. It took me a very long time to cut this watermelon in half. Watermelon Strategy Now it's time to move in and enjoy. I'm going to pause here for a while and think about how to go about this. In the mean time...
Enjoy your 4th of July! Good-bye Beth's family and friends will be gathering together today to remember her mom who passed away last week. I wish I could go. Nancy was the one who bought me and gave me to Beth. She knew Beth loved tiny things. We are sad. Beth had planned on getting Nancy to be in a photo with me. I was going to be in her hand! But we had a great idea today. I snuggled up with Nancy's teddy bear... the same Teddy she snuggled up with as a small child. That would have made Nancy smile! This will make you smile. Here's 2 year old Nancy at the age when she probably first got her Teddy. She was having so much fun when this photo was taken, I'll bet she knocked him right off the couch!
Doesn't feel like Christmas yet. I'm sad. There are no decorations. I'll pose with some nuts that are left over from Thanksgiving. The green bow makes me a little cheerier. It's not about decorations really. Tomorrow I will tell you why I'm sad. Just Sitting I might just sit in this bowl of nuts until tomorrow.
